I think it is really sad how financial education is not really taught in school. Many schools have been adopting a class that teaches kids to save money and to live below their means. Some even have an event once a year where the kids are put into a simulation of having to get paid, then pay their bills while being tempted to buy lots of stuff. While I think these are valuable learning lessons for kids to learn there is so much more to finances that we need to learn. 

No one teaches how to read let alone use an income statement and balance sheet. This is a vital part of personal finances. In accounting they explain these sheets yet do not tell you how to use one for your life just your business. But how many people take accounting classes too.

I wish there was a class that took the time to help us understand the history of money too so we can have a historical perspective that can help us understand current financial issues. 

I have taken the time and money to discover these things for myself and have been very grateful for learning them. Robert Kiyosaki has taught me a lot that has made a real difference in my life. 

I am grateful he is out there teaching others and helping them out. I have even taken economics classes to learn more as well. What an eye opener they were. Take the time to educate yourself on basic financial accounting and use it in your life. Learn how to invest money wisely.
